Hey, I have a Dungeons and Dragons pinball machine. But it always displays 1 credit. I went through the pricing options for the chutes and set it to 1 coin for 1 credit it accepts the coins but the credits don't count down after each game. Anyone with a Dungeons and Dragons machine know how to fix this?

I don't want to use Freeplay as I like the arcade feel of putting in a coin..

Well before I made the changes to take it off of Freeplay which it was originally on I unplugged the machine and removed the AA batteries from it. I waited a few hours and put the batteries back in and plugged the machine back in.

I have the manual for it to and I am quite sure I set all 3 coin shute options to 1 credit for 1 coin and all bonus to 0. Though the coin door only has 2 coin slots and not 3.

I dunno why it accepts credits but won't count them down after you start and finish a game. Very odd.

Any idea? Also are there any pinball repair technicians that do house calls in the Richmond Hill area that are good at things like flipper rebuilds and replacing broken drop target banks? As eventually I know this stuff will need to be attended to.

Ok, what I've noticed is that every time the start game button is pressed it adds a credit. i assume whoever had it before wired it up that way. Does anyone know what I can look for to remove whatever was done?

Thank you for your reply. I have attached a few pictures. It's a hard angle to shoot. If you need different views please let me know and I'll take others.

Someone has added an extra leaf switch and wired it to the coin chute switch--its circled in the picture. Every time you press the start button, it will BOTH start a game and add another credit. The added switch that closes tricks the game into thinking a coin has been dropped.

It's an accepted, and non-intrusive, way of getting around the lack of a free play setting in early Bally/Stern game code--waaaay better than the doorbell mod hack jobs done to some of the games from the era.

Hey! thanks a lot for that information it is greatly appreciated! I assume whomever had it didn't want to just set it to freeplay using the keypad and setting it Freeplay within the game options for whatever reason. I have it on Freeplay now, but with that new piece of information you have provided I will put it back to Credits.

Yeah, not sure why they didn't just set it to freeplay with the software. Here is the stock setup for reference.

Thanks for the picture. It is quite annoying that they modified it with another switch. I'll have to replace the switch with a new one since it looks like they hacked up the leaf blades on the original. Very annoying.. hopefully Menace will be able to come over soon I'd love to have some work done on the machine..
