I got some recessed center dollys and 3 arcade headers for wall art.
Some of the pins were pretty dirty.
Played this nice alternative to a full size table. Just wish I knew what the rules were.20160924_123434.jpg

Got lots of fantastic parts. Met some new faces and saw old friends. Played some Spiderman and Tommy.
Can't wait for the next swap meet.

Yes, thanks to Mike Hanley, Doug Baird, and everyone else who put this on and participated! It was a fun day, and a great opportunity to chat with people we don't always get to see in the community!

Thanks Mike and Doug. Really enjoyed meeting a few people, and getting a chance to try out the different games. Hope you do it again.

Doug and I want to thank all of you for attending. Thanks for those who brought stuff to sell!

Our volunteers are awesome. I hurt my back 4 weeks ago, and relied on
Steve, Stephanie, Carl and Don and Andy hugely.

We'll have to do this more often!!!

Just saying a multicade and a xpin could have really kicked it up a notch.
Should have had party zone down and opened up for a cleaning demo (I could always use a few tips on how the pros clean).
Also don't recall a sign saying there was more out back.
Would have been nice if the staff had a unified look. At least then I would have known who to ask about the wall hanger NGS pf.
Would have been cool if some of the other big retailers had booths.
I was tempted to stop bt ToPEC on the drive home.
I left wondering how they keep the lights on with their weekend play openings.
Who knows maybe they do repairs or how to classes....

Also, a big thanks to J-F for hauling his Bally Surf Club bingo down from Montreal! First time playing a bingo for me and I was greatful to have J-F by my side to explain the features and scoring strategies. It's definately the game I spent the most time on at the show!

I played quite a bit of that bingo.

It had 162 credits at the start and zero by the time I left!

Thanks Mike, it was good to see people and pick up a couple of parts.

Thanks Rob. I had a good time. It was fun showing people how to play the surf-club. It was worth it bringing the game even if the game conked out at the end of the day.

Thank Y0u Mike for organizing the swap meet.

Later all the silent auction pins had starting bids.
The most complete was a playmatic. Many empty cabinets or bottom halfs.
I kinda felt like it was good luck if I could fix any of them if a place with this many spare parts only got them this far.
It was a total bust in my opinion.
I have only been to two other shows VFW and Pinbrawl in Michigan and they were both far better for game selection for playing. Parts maybe not so much. VFW did have a few boxes of backglasses and a really killer setup for the repair shop.

I think "total bust" is a bit harsh. The vast majority of the pins in the silent auction were rough around the edges (complete projects, really, mostly EMs), with an empty Dr. Who cab, an empty SW:Trilogy cab and an empty Atari head (I believe those were the only empty cabs that were there...that's fewer than "a ton"). There was a list provided before hand...all the games were described as projects...no surprises. If you were expecting Pinball Expo, Allentown or VFW, I can see how you'd be disappointed.

I found quite a few little parts and pieces in the swap meet area I needed and paid next to nothing for them. And I actually bought a couple of the aforementioned project pins a few days after the show...Mr. Hanley was willing to deal.

To be blunt, what more do we have in the GTA for "shows"...a place where we can get together, sell our parts, shoot the breeze and play some pinball. This could act as a great jumping off point. If I heard correctly, I think the Church is going to host again in the spring, and this time provide more indoor space for the community to bring their own games, for sale or free play. I'll provide a game or two...maybe erase the words "total bust" from the PBRev lexicon?

I was just suprised that none of the other regular retail/parts players didn't come out.
It sure wasn't the basement at ToPEC. Nor the showroom floor.

Like I said I have been to only 2 other events and found them much better in my opinion.

For a place that seems to make its bread and butter from play and events as I have seen no repair demos or info. I would have expected the floor space to have the majority devoted to working games and not the storage/shop.
