Thanks Mike. I guess this license allows them to put "Bally" on their machine, unlike MMR. I would be curious to see the price on these. Would the base one be similar to a NIB Stern pro? The BoM should be similar, no?

Stern pro is 5k usd these will be 8 or 9.

I'll probably wait a couple years, then get the classic model. I'm not really liking the large DMD, and I sure as shit don't like that green trim package. It looks ridiculous. Red or black would have been better.

Although without seeing under the Playfield I can't say for sure. AFM will be my next game, but I'm just as likely to find an old one.

I could live with the green trim to get that topper. Must resist, but resistance is futile.

Does anyone have a link for the sellers?

Stainless or chrome for AFM if you wanna keep it looking stock otherwise if you wanna add some colour then I would do red or black. This green is as ugly as the mustard trim on MMR.

Doug from CGC posted this on Pinside, so hopefully this addresses some questions. It will be interesting to see what they consider 'pleasantly surprised' regarding the pricing:

"
Let me try to address a few common questions.

Regarding the delay in announcing pricing on AFM, we want to afford all of our dealers the opportunity to start selling AFM at the same time. The art assets for dealer websites are being distributed early next week which should provide enough time for dealers to complete webpages before the start of TPF. We had somewhat wrongly assumed that dealers would be unable to take orders without pricing. ALL DEALERS ARE PROHIBITED FROM TAKING DEPOSITS BEFORE PRICING HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED.

Pricing and product details will be released at 5pm CST on March 24th. I believe most people will be pleasantly surprised.

Regarding the XL Display,
1) It is in fact exactly the same aspect ratio as the original display.
2) Diagonally, it measures roughly 19” which provides almost twice the viewable area.
3) As for MMR, Athyrio Games was contracted to created all new artwork at 4x the resolution of the original. They did an amazing job.
4) The huge display with the Athyrio graphics is really striking. I’m looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback at TPF.
5) If you don’t like the RGB illuminated speakers, there is an operator setting the allows you to turn the LEDs off.

Chicago Gaming will be assembling the games. In the seventeen years I have been with CGC, Churchill and CGC have assembled over 50,000 arcade games. In addition to our own proprietary products we have done full arcade game assembly for Konomi, Sega, Namco, Global VR and Raw Thrills. Recognizing the unique challenges of pinball assembly, we have spent the last four months setting up our line, designing production fixtures and staffing up with a core of employees with extensive pinball experience.

I don’t think a game can be accurately assessed from a handful of cellphone photos. Please come to Texas Pinball Festival and see for yourself. Even if you don’t come to see AFM, TPF is always a blast! Plus, I’ll buy you a beer if you tell me you like the green trim (you have to seem sincere). I hope to see you in Texas!

--Doug Duba"

Also followed this up by addressing the green trim, so they're listening.

"Give us through the end of TPF to reassess trim options.

Thanks for the feedback!"

Custom Topper (LE Only)

Doug Watson, the creator of the original Attack from Mars art package, was commissioned to design the new topper. Watson hand sculpted the Martian from which the molds were created to produce the new roto-molded animated Martian. Watson also created the other printed topper elements.

Enhanced Sound (LE & SE Only)

Sound is a crucial component of the player's experience. The system's class D digital amplifier powers two 120-watt poly-cone coaxial speakers and a single 8" 190-watt poly-cone woofer to provide an unprecedented immersive audio experience. Additionally, owners are now able to control the balance between the speaker panel and the cabinet woofer. Whether you prefer thumping bass or something more traditional, you now control your audio experience.

The speakers are illuminated with red, green and blue tri-color LEDs. These are utilized to create lighting effects which have been integrated into gameplay.

XL Display - Nearly 2x the viewable area! (LE and SE only)

HD Color Upgrade (LE & SE Only)

ATHYRIO GAMES has created all new full-color display artwork, reimagined within the framework of the original Bally display artwork at four times the resolution. Nearly 2,400 frames have been painstakingly animated to create a display that features full color and four times the number of dots as the original Bally game.
