There isn't really 10 things, it all depends on how far you want to take it.
For me if I get a game home and it works, I'll usually enjoy it and play it for a while. Reason being when I do a shop job, I do a complete rebuild.
I figure if I'm going to shop the thing I'm going to do it right, so I:
- Strip the playfiled bear
- Throw out all the old light bulbs
- Clean and wax the playfield
- remove all the under playfield assemblies, disassemble them, clean them, replace coil sleeves and reassebmle
- Rebuild the flippers
- Replace the lamps with new ones
- Replace all plastic posts
- Replace all the rubbers
- Clean all the ramps
- Replace the plastic set if possible
- Put everything back and enjoy
Taking it a step further you can remove and clean the entire wiring loom and get the play field clear coated.
