I have sold pins in the past and I am doing a deal soon on a couple more and I am usually happy if I get my cost back.

I guess someone that buys and sells for a living may see it as a necessary mark-up to maintain their business. But at least this guy is honest about it and it is up to the sellers and buyers to decide what price will work.
