Why was it infamous? Because I was proud of my bringing it back from being painted over?

BTW I paid $400 for that machine and it worked great just needed a bit of cleaning and new rubbers to get it working.

Most tend to check several sites for info , stories, pins. i am currenlty watching a few detail restores on another site and i love the detail some that post here on bringing a machine back to splendour. i would have to think that most "logs" of any pinball repairs/restorations are kept to a site or two where one has a certain familiarity with the regulars that post there. I cant remember ever seeing one restoration of a machine cross posted to more sites than that spin out did on Maaca/facefook/pinside/here. Add to the fact that updates were given every two feet of the process , you can see how that machine became a high profile heavily social networked machine. when mentioning that i had seen 3 for aroud 500 that wasnt one of them , however.. with your effort, elbow grease and exuberance was duly noted. I wasnt being critical of your machine and can understand your pride.

I think I paid $800 USD for my C37 but that was a few years ago. My El Dorado ran me $1300 USD also a few years back (dollar close to par and I was even waived through customs :) ) And, I have also had a Jacks Open that was in and around the $1K mark. Atlantis would be above that range too, as well as any of the super rare wedges.

My comment was more of a generalization on "most" common wedgeheads and Spin Out is certainly a 'common' title. Certainly there are some exceptions. Hell, I have nearly $2K into my GTB Spot Bowler woodrail and haven't even restored it yet!!!

FWIW, I picked up my current Spin Out for under $200 and it seems to have been in way better shape than the $1300 example currently on kijiji. This was within the last year. I was able to get the cab repainted and buy a new backglass, legs and so on and still be under $1K for a minty (like new) machine.

IMO, this is what a $1300-$1500 Spin Out should look like.

i think anything with a new backglass almost always has to put it at a g note. i didnt " think" that spin out on kijiji was in the 1300 mark but one never knows where the pinball price police lurk.

and my own FWIW... ive only sold one wedgehead north of 1000 and that was a majorettes sample game. i returned the favour by buying his other majorettes for 2 k but when the game is almost newer than new, it is some of the best money spent really.(as an added bonus it is my favourite 60s wedgehead to play). when you get into projects , it usually ends up hitting the north end of a 1k and sometimes you have to think about the money and time being spent but that doesnt mean that one wont do it either. im going to have close to 900 into that 150 dollar moulin rouge that sold on this site a few months ago , and ill probably more than likely have a hard time getting it back if i decide to move on from it someday but we do it because we appreciate the game moreso than the profit and loss.
