I agree. They're nicer. I can't justify another $100 when I've already bought the Pinbits ones though...

...yet

I can't justify $100 at all for pop bumper caps.

Hell I can't justify any mods, turned down the lighted ramps, shadow alternate translate and cftbl hologram LCD replacement.

Just not worth it for something that has 0 actual effect on gameplay.

And this is what separates the players from the collectors.

I consider myself a player who also likes a decent looking collection of pins, not perfect but nice looking. Mods on pins are kind of like tinting the windows on your car, or better yet, bothering to wash it every now and then. Doesn't make your car go faster, but makes you feel better when you drive it.

I personally don't care much about cabinet fade, or other angles of the machine I cannot directly see when I play it. I do insist upon a very well functioning pin but a little bling here and there doesn't hurt, although that is game specific. My Tron has got a number of mods, and yet my STTNG with the very nice cabinet only has the cannon domes and I've had that game for years.

Anyway, I could swear I saw Eli's Tron arcade mod installed somewhere on Adam's Tron  :p

I know a lot of guys like to swap out the pop caps on this game. I must be one of the few that actually likes the originals. Blasphemy, I know

In any case, thanks for sharing Ryan.

It must have something to do with the OLED screen making the area brighter... and thereby improving gameplay :D

I think we can all agree we like cool shit!

No it's cause I got in on it early enough that it was actually worth the cost, back when it was like $60 for the kit you did yourself.

No friking way in hell would I pay the ungodly amount they want for the thing today.

I like mods, I just don't like being bent over a barrel to make my machine look nicer, if those caps were $50 I'd be more interested as it would only be a little bit more then what it would cost to just buy new regular caps. But $100 fuck no, no way I'm paying that for some extra plastic on my machine with a bit of chrome.

I didn't mind them either, actually they looked a LOT better once I replaced the crappy stock LED's with some frosted, domed cool whites. :)

I'm looking forward to getting Tron again...

I don't mind decking out my Tron because it is the one game I know I will never sell. The others in my collection will probably go one day.

I'm with you on this one.
Why would you want to remove Gem, Zeus, and most importantly, DAFT PUNK?
The DAFT PUNK plastic is sweet and their only visual appearance on the game.

Swapping that out for big blue nipples or chrome plastic that says TRON is redundant.

That's the other thing. I do like how they look like identity discs, but I don't like that they say "TRON" on them. That part isn't really necessary.
