Missing diode on flipper coil?

Found this when I checked out the flipper mech on my Pinbot. Looks like someone removed one of the diodes on the right flipper coil. Left has same coil and 2 diodes. Makes no sense to me.

It's not that big of a deal as I plan on replacing everything anyway but just wanted to know of there was a reason?

The manual shows a different coil. There is information in the manual also referring to one diode and a photo on Google reveals a coil with only one diode. Hope that helps!

Thanks Mike.

Its a different coil because its been upgraded to a parallel coil at some point and as such should have 2 diodes just like the left flipper. Just wondering if there was a known reason for doing this as it doesn't make sense to me in the sense of an electrical circuit.
