Hi all,

Looking to purchase my first NIB pin but torn on what to get and would love some feedback. I've basically narrowed it down to ST Premium or MBR SE but I'm open to other ideas as well. A little background... I grew up with pins in the home as my father was an avid collector but this will be the first pin I've owned. I would say I'd be a casual player. I have 4 kids ranging in age from 22 to 10 and they are mostly PC gamers but have played the odd pin over the years. My 10 year old recently got hooked on TWD while we at a resort and told me we should get a pinball machine. My wife chimed in and said she likes them as well and I said I should get one so here I am

I love ST and really like MB so I'm torn on what direction I should go. I'm not sure my 10 year old would love ST and my wife is not a into that theme either but my older sons and I are and I know we'd probably play them the most (my 10 year old is a Fortnite addict and not sure how long pins would appeal to him lol). So do I get a pin I know I'd love and play or get a pin I really like and one that will appeal to the whole family like MB?

Both are good choices, but I'd probably go MB over ST if it was one or the other. If it's your first (and only for a while) game, you'd probably get a bunch of mileage out of either. Getting something that everyone is going to like is probably also a good move if you ever want to be able to get more.

Great feedback. I know it won't be my last so I need to ensure the Mrs. is on board. MB is a great pin that I know the'd like. I just LOVE the ST flow and speed. But that can always be my second ;)

Between the 2 I'd go with Star Trek! Its always been on my list and it's a great flowing game and feels like your really on board the enterprise. I think Sterns are the way to go for NIB. My choice if I could have any new in box though would be Iron Maiden. I'm not even a fan of the music or grew up listening to it. I think Music pins are great because anyone can appreciate it and I've grown to love the music. It's also a great and fun playing game for beginners and pro's. Full disclosure I've never bought a NIB.

MB and ST are both great games. not to put a wrench in the cogs, but have you spent any time on an Iron Maiden Gman? It is one of the best games Stern has released in a long time! It might be worth a trip to Player One in Mississauga and put some time in on one. :)

Player One has been my second home that past few weeks lol. Yes I've played IM while there. Great game but not a fan of the music at all. Same goes for MET. I guess you can switch out songs but that's too high maintenance for me :)

Maybe I'll have to try it again. Definitely not music that is currently played in our home lol.

It was my first NIB, and I got a premium to boot. I for one have been a Maiden fan since age 13. But really, after the sounds effects and call outs, the music is really just a background, which can be turned down in settings or even turned off completely. It is just a fantastic game all around. I can't stop playing it!! Also really challenging.

I’m not a fan of Maiden or MET music but loved the heck out of MET when i owned it and if I were to go NIB right now Maiden would be near the top of the list for me. I’ve played plenty of MB over the years and for the cost id probably go Star Trek if I had to pick between the two... I haven’t spent much time on it but I’ve got to get better with upper flipper games so I’d lean that way. Can’t go wrong with either.

Monsterbash is really family friendly, fun and easy to understand for everyone (and my son's favourite). That remake looks really sweet.

Star Trek is great for serious players and would give a longer term challenge and has a great rule set.

Guess it depends what you want.

Of course no one ever stops at one game... so maybe you just need to decide which one you want to buy first?

Awesome great choice! I really like that game and think its super fun. It's one of my top and even more so then IM sometimes. Enjoy!
