It looks great but it seems tailored more towards commercial settings with that price and how heavy duty it is.
Would be really cool if it was interactive in some way too, I see that plunger and I want to be able to plunge a ball around it.
Lol I've definitely pumped my play count up by doing that, but these days I try to only do it if my first ball is absolutely horrible, like <1,000,000 points on IMDN.
Obsesssion over number of plays makes no sense to me. The real question is how well maintained the machine is. There are so many other factors too. If you are a noob you might have the same play time in 1000 plays as a veteran gets in 200. People talk about how they can go 45 minutes on games...
Cabin Fever is definitely the best. The vibe in there is great and because it's so small and focused on pinball everyone who is there is older and serious about playing.
Shame about Tilt, I was just going to go there to try out Funhouse. I heard they just got a DDR machine too which I'm sure...
Iron Maiden is definitely on the harder side but I probably don't have enough experience to say it's the hardest, or one of the hardest. I find it is a drain monster though, so hard to keep it out of the outlanes.
Easy ones to me are both of the older machines I've owned, Tee'd Off and Class of...
Who knows? Bowie + Jim Henson puppets = success with women?
My GF would have been pretty young when she saw it so I have a feeling she's remembering it fondly through the nostalgia lens.
Agreed. I don't think it's a coincidence that Metallica, Maiden, Rush, ACDC and Foo Fighters are the most beloved music pins. The ones that focus on the band and show geriatric concert footage are way less appealing.
Hell yeah, flight of the navigator pin should be next!
And I find it interesting how many people have said their wife needs this pin. I've seen multiple people on pinside say the same. I guess this movie was a big hit with the ladies? My GF also likes this movie and I've never seen it.
LOL. It just signs up whatever e-mail address you put in for hundreds of mailing lists. It's supposed to be to stress test e-mail servers and stuff but you know how most people use it ;)
Like Pinpickle said it does depend on the game. If there is a lot of multiball you'll probably need to change them more, same with if there is a newton ball/block you're likely to damage the balls quicker.
Just keep an eye on them and check them every time you clean the machine and you should...
I need a Gottlieb A-17876 coil but can't find one in Canada. Before I go paying the shipping and duties etc from Marco I thought I'd ask here and see if anyone has one. Thanks.
EDIT: Looks like I found a source, don't think I can delete threads.
It really depends on the machine. Stern and other modern machines can fit in my Forester but a gottlieb system 3 machine will not without taking the head off. I need like 2 more inches of clearance height wise to get it in.
Sounds like fun!
And are you the one who operates the pins at Shox's? I was there a few weeks ago and several of them had critical issues that made them unplayable. I lost money trying machines that just didn't work. (at least two machines had a non functional flipper and AC/DC needs its coin...
That's lame. I managed to get 50 from ball baron last year through ebay and it was by far the cheapest option for Canadians to get non magnetizing balls in bulk.
Wow that's a nightmare.
I also had an issue with Shippsy although it was a lot smaller than yours. I went in on a group buy from a guy who is stationed in Korea. He bought us all some Korean product that doesn't ship overseas and then he shipped it to us.
When mine arrived at Shippsy they...

Check out the current ads and archived ads and you should be able to get a pretty good ballpark for the price. Also remember those pinside ads are probably all going to be in the US so consider the current exchange rate and the fact that...
