Yeah, it's a real dog.
Hope someone will take this steaming pile off my hands.
May have to resort to calling up one of those guys on Kijiji that'll haul bulky, smelly and unwanted pinball machines out of people's basements free of charge... and even find them a new home!
If you had a Godzilla I would take that bait :D
Anyway, this one has a lot into it so the price is going to be reflective of that. I'd rather wait and see if a trade can be made first.
Thanks
Hey Guys,
I have this really nice Shadow. I think I'm done with it... have owned it twice now.
I'd like to throw it up here for trade but will also entertain a cash sale.
I've calculated roughly $2500-$3000 in extras, uprgades and new parts on this machine not including the time and labour...
Forgot one more item.
I have a set of repro (clear) ramps for GTB Genesis. These are the ones made by FREEPLAY40 on Pinside.
Looking for $180 CAD. They are still in box.
I keep forgetting to post this stuff.
I have a whole bunch of parts available for sale. WIlling to let some stuff go cheap on package deals.
I'll bring to the event early Saturday and hang out for a bit.
1st:
I have a big lot of parts for Williams SPACE STATION.
NOS set of plastics (NLA)
Repro...
Don't see that game every day!
If you do end up gluing, see if there's any place underneath to add some additional blocking. Like those triangular pieces of wood you always see inside pinball cabinet joints with extra glue/nails to give the cab extra stability.
If you can hide a couple of...
Nice pipe clamps!
Reminds me of when I did my WH2O. That front panel was only being held together with drywal screws. It fell right out once I removed them.
On the bright side, it made sanding the inside of the cab super easy ;)
It seems the impending cold weather had the same effect on me...
It was a fun gathering. We probably spent more time sitting out in the garage/driveway with the jukebox going and smoking cigars than playing pinball. It was nice to finally have you over Steve. Thanks for coming early and helping me set up too! It's always fun to share the collection with...
Thanks Tim.
My dream is to have Seawitch and Fathom fully restored and side by side.
Two awesome games from the same year and competing manufacturers; using near identical systems. Both machines with like themes, unique sounds and 3 flippers in near identical configurations. Both with heavy use...
Yes, great question. There was some bare wood as you can see. I always like to seal that up by hand with a brush first and also I like to clearcoat and sand until the playfield is somewhat smooth before I airbrush.
Because of this I mix some colour and use it as a primer for those first bare...
I'm picking up on an ongoing project that I had put away for most of the Summer.
In keeping with my recent run of classic 'sturd' projects, my Stern SeaWitch has been disassembled for some time.
The cabinet was really rough and the playfield also needed a lot of love. Despite all that, the game...
Yes, I jokingly refer to these projects as my "good'nuff" series :)
Also, because I'm only using the clear to seal the art and not to lay down a thick layer, these games are playable within days of the final finish.
Dude, I don't even know :D
I'm ashamed to admit it was some old can of rattle-can "auto" clear that I had bought at Canadian Tire.
I'd used it before for spot clearcoating where I mask off an area of the playfield and then blast a shot or two of this stuff. The goal is not to get an even glossy...
Just a quick update showing the final product on this Nine Ball touch-up.
I sealed my repairs with some spray can clear in this case and then blended the finish across the entire playfield with a series of wet-sanding/polishing to match it all up. The goal was to make it look like a minty...
Epoxy (the 2 part stuff).
Clean/sand the edges of the insert and the hole to remove old glue and residue. Then apply the epoxy to both and press into place. Use something flat like a wood block to set it at the right height.
Oh.. I guess I should mention that this advice assumes you're...
Another quick update on the Nine Ball playfield.
I didn't want to get into a big project wth this game. Everything on it is really nice except for the central playfield wear. I decided to attempt a rather large spot repair; similar to what I had done recently on my Bally Frontier. This consists...
