Oh no! Machine was blanking out again. Sent my solenoid board to Tommy for repair. He replaced that old capacitor that's on the 5 volt line among other things. Just played a marathon session, all is good now. Unlike the Old Chicago, I will replace the playfield entirely by myself to save on some...
Up for sale is this beautiful Old Chicago. Brand new playfield, perfect backglass. Extras include illuminated mini topper, spare plastic set & is mostly LEDed. Currently set for free play but can be converted back to coin play. $3,500 firm.
UPDATE: Source of blanking out has been traced down to the sounds plus board, sent to Tommy for repair. 100 point issue has been traced to a bad capacitor on one of the switches. The machine is fine now, thanks for the help.
Played that machine a lot at Pearson Airport in old T-1 on the night shift when it was new. A great game with a deep ruleset. I would buy it if I had the spare cash. GLWS.
I recently acquired a sadly neglected Xenon. It had no battery so I installed a NVRAM (MPU has no corrosion) and reprogrammed the settings. A couple of things are going on,
every now & then the machine "blanks" out & resets during game play. The other thing is that when the Mota bonus reaches...
Hey Dino,
I would like to get one standard size glass from your brother tomorrow (July 15) sometime around noon. Please forward his address & let him know I'm coming.

I bought a rare classic 1952 Gottlieb Happy Days pinball a couple of months ago in not bad condition. A full restoration is nearing completion including a new repro backglass, all new bumper caps, all color matched LEDs in the head, a few on the playfield and fixed a fair number of glitches...
After converting to all LED, I only had one spot on the playfield that was dark in the shooter lane. It kind of irked me because there is a beautiful plastic located there. So I installed a 3SMD LED strip. The results were amazing.
I hated that I had an beautiful unilluminated plastic on the shooter lane of my DE Star Trek so I installed an LED strip from DRAPL. I love how it looks & it only cost me $5.
It sounds like the head, playfield & bottom board are not communicating properly. An important step not mentioned is to clean all the Jones plug connectors in the game, this should resolve most of your problems. For the ball issues, clean & rebuild the ball count unit up in the head, clean &...
If you know this game, you will know that the ramp lights were very poorly designed. The lacquer insulation was too thin & shorted out the lights & auxiliary board in a very short time. I looked around for over a year but couldn't find a replacement. I ran into Eddie from DRAPL at a the Maple...
I have done a bunch more work to it. Installed Cliffys, side art blades, all LEDs, speaker grill programmable LEDs, pop bumper ring LEDs & speaker noise filter. Replaced swing target motor that crapped out, left drop target unit that broke in half and repaired damaged subway ramp. However, my...
Hey Buddy, I remember you saying that you had problems with the DE Star Trek audio when you had it. Well it just started doing it again by playing wrong sounds. Do you recall how you fixed it?
Was playing my Spirit of 76 today when it started running on after game over in a most annoying way. Did a little troubleshooting and found & repaired this broken wire in 12 minutes. Machine plays fine now. If you're having problems with your EM game let me know, with 50 years experience I can...
