Totally agree here, $3500-$6000 hit on resale so make sure you absolutely love the game when buying it. I would take a $8000 loss if I sold my Alien LV right now but thankfully I'm never selling it.Fun theme with lots of potential.
The problem is the MRSP and fx conversion in our crappy dollar.
$20k CAD + for an LE and $15k CAD + for a premium spells a disastrous secondary market and tons of downside risk.
On the Pinside forum Canada f/s thread, Aquapin is selling a FF LE or Bond LE for CAD $14.5k, near $6k below MRSP here in Ontario. Wow.
All Stern titles (including LEs) are under serious price compression.
Soon up to serious decline will be A-listers like GZ & JP. 1,000 is too many to make these LEs truly rare or collectible. Jaws is going to take a serious hit soon enough as well.
IMO, best to be just patient, and see what unfolds, including Wick.
For longer term ownership, it’s not quite as punitive as the loss is kinda spread out over a longer period of time. Still not ideal ofcourse.
However, for shorter pockets of ownership or a quicker flip, it’s likely going to be a very painful loss.
Can’t see how this won’t eventually impact the NIB market and inventory at dealers starts to gather dust.
Now with P1 losing the exclusive rights on Stern, there’s going to be multiple local distributors, but the MRSP is likely going to be the exact same everywhere.
If I were to buy NIB, I would want the least expensive or free delivery & set-up along with the best support should there be issues.
I think Stern, JJP and others have simply gone too far with pricing.
I can’t imagine how there can be a healthy secondary market going forward.
I mean who wants to consistently lose $3k-$6k on every purchase going forward?
Will be interesting to see if Stern or any of their competition will start to seriously moderate prices or just begin throwing in additional enhancements like speaker lights, anti-glare glass, or art/mirror blades to try & create the perception of added value.
Personally, I feel that’s not enough but I guess the market will speak for itself.
Well based on the FF LE & Bond LE at CAD $14.5k on Pinside, I think the shorter & mid-term could be very punitive in the current environment. Not necessarily true that short ownership will be more painful. I think it has more to do with the desirablity of a title.
As an example, I think if a used Jaws premium came up for sale today it could probably fetch cost less $1000. I can't see a Venom premium getting within $2000 of cost. While those numbers change over time, I think the spread would remain wider for Venom.
Prices aren't coming down but maybe we see content increase a little. We shall see what JW brings.
Supply also a consideration. Numbers are impossible to know but I'd bet there are a fairly large number of FF and Bond games out there. They both came out when the pinball market was much healthier. Bonds got dumped by people that were frustrated with the earlier code. I noticed a lot of caution with people I know on buying a Jaws.Well based on the FF LE & Bond LE at CAD $14.5k on Pinside, I think the shorter & mid-term could be very punitive in the current environment.
Agreed, let’s see how JW fares.
And they still haven't sold, looks like this is the next leg down.On the Pinside forum Canada f/s thread, Aquapin is selling a FF LE or Bond LE for CAD $14.5k, near $6k below MRSP here in Ontario. Wow.
I feel like higher priced machines (esp LEs) are harder to move right now. Makes sense if people are cutting back on buying "stuff". Post pandemic people have been hit hard with higher rates and inflation, and locations usually won't buy LEs. Just my theory. And they still haven't sold, looks like this is the next leg down.
"Yeah, I'm thinking I'm back" is from the very first movie, so probably?I Wonder if it is just John Wick Chapter 4 if so do they have enough assets.
I hope so John wicks 1-4 is a great amount of assets"Yeah, I'm thinking I'm back" is from the very first movie, so probably?
You just know those callouts will be great, so would be the music! Being hopeful as well!I hope so John wicks 1-4 is a great amount of assets
