I'm on the look out for some playfields. A local luthier and I worked on an awesome project through COVID and produced my Fathom "Telecaster"! It turned out great. He has had the chance to make a couple of more pinball guitars based off some generously provided playfields but he wants to make more. He is an incredibly talented Luthier that builds amazing custom guitars in Hamilton and we see a real potential in so many titles and a chance to bring some old playfield wall hangers a new life.

When I say I'm looking for a deal, I'll be straight up and say we're not looking to buy your NOS mint playfields, we're looking for some with age and wear, they make cool looking guitars... budget tops out at about $100 a playfield, maybe more for the right title... like a C37!! I really want to build another one and that is the one I'm looking for. The cooler the artwork the more desirable, there are plenty of playfields that wouldn't make a cool guitar, but so many that would! Like a Centaur!

Would love to hear what you have, of course if you want to turn your old playfield into a guitar you can reach out to him directly and he can walk you through the process but I've offered to try and track down some more playfields so he can have some inventory for people to choose from.

Try this guy on FB, has a huge stash of pinballs, arcades, etc looking to sell off. All are heavily damaged. Looks like big sale in person on Saturday up by Midland.

That looks like the place I went to pick up a few shuffle alleys about 15 years ago.. The games were horrendous then. No way there’s 80k worth of junk in there.

Thanks! Found an add on FB for it, but it didn't mention an in person sale, will see if I can find someone to message him. Worth a message for me to see if there are playfields and he's going to part the lot out.

Edit: Heard back from the seller, he said he had a couple of playfields but too busy to investigate further, I'm welcome to take a drive out and see what he has however.

Pretty cool!
How much would a guitar cost if I had him make one with my blown out Centaur pf?
I’d love to see a Centaur one for sure! Costs vary depending on the other parts and wood selected… best bet is it connect with Daniel for the details, I made mine through his guitar building course he offers so pricing differs.

Do the inserts light up when they are done? That would scream pinball.
If you are bonding it to other wood, I can't see why you couldn't run some leds.

All my PFs are too trashed, Whitewood is just that, plain.

The lights do light up… he’s implemented a couple of solutions so far and each one gets better. On mine during final assembly I drove a screw through one of my control lines so my light show doesn’t work properly but in subsequent builds the routing lines are planned and cut via CNC so that won’t happen again.

Moving this to the top, would really like to get my hands on a Centigrade 37 playfield for anyone who may have done a swap!

Will he sell one of the guitars? Love to have the EK
Heck ya! That’s what he does for a living. His pinball guitars are all custom orders though… and the EK is spoken for. The guy who got the bass liked it so much he got Daniel to build him a Tele out of the remaining one playfield. It’s on the bench now and looks awesome. I’ll add more pics when it’s done. If you have a EK donner playfield he’d make you one though.
