You had me until that last bit. LOL. Given you traded LOTR for TZ, maybe you meant TZ>LOTR?
TZ, for me, is the best game ever. But that's just my opinion. I have great memories playing it on location before I understood the rules. It really felt like the game was possessed, like it came from the Twilight Zone. Throw the pull to the upper playfield. What? No flippers!? Cool. Every now and again the machine would throw the Powerball at you to really mess you up. It would stop the ball when you do a loop shot. It would taunt you when you started multi ball "Don't touch the door, don't touch the door" and the jackpot animation and sounds are heaven.
Then the excitement of finally getting one and getting it delivered on Christmas eve before I had kids. I had the best Christmas ever that year. So TZ will always hold a special spot in my heart.
No. I meant what I said. LOTR > TZ.
Times have changed. Yes I agree back when I was collecting over a decade ago the last few years of W/B games were amazing. I personally think they are showing their age now. Limited depth. "simple" rules.
Don't get me wrong I like TZ, but not enough to have it in the lineup anymore. There are better games out there - at least for me. As I said it has to be an adventure, a journey. Give me goals, short term, long term. Make reaching the end of the game nearly impossible. Keeps me coming back. WoZ and JP are still keeping me away from the ultimate wizard modes. I like that. Never did get to Valinor when I owned LOTR but my skills have dramatically changed. It's an attainable goal now.
Games like STTNG I can get to final frontier too easily now but the theme makes it a keeper. DW has no real point other than starting multiball and scoring Davros jackpots. Meh. RFM is just too damn easy even with the updated custom code. SWEP1 is even simpler. Those 2(3) are on the chopping block soon.
Anyway back to the thread. GLWT search!! You can sell me the LOTR once you 're done with it!
