Just bought one. I hadn't really given the game much thought... although I have become a bit of a Bally 6803 junkie lately.
After playing it at the VFW last weekend I was hooked.

I enjoyed mine while I had it. I only kept it for a few months and then sold it to one of my friends where it still sits and I get to play on it. The only real problem I have with the game is that I never found a way to empty the Atom smasher at the end of each game. Carry over features drive me crazy and especially in something like the atom smasher which trumps everything else in the game by a long shot point wise.

I thought I found one when you replied, lol. That's the thing about pinball, everyone likes something different. One mans Xenon is another mans Taxi.....

Well, if you get bored of it gimme a shout.

Do you have anything for trade? If so I'll ask my friend but he only has 2 pins so I doubt he'd want to sell outright.

I think this is a common feature in some 6803 pins. My Special Force won't release the "hostages" (locked balls) until someone starts the multiball. However, for that game, having little POWs trapped in the game until someone comes and rescues them is pretty fitting.
It doesn't make them great games for competition for sure.

I don't have anything to trade, unfortunately. He can always buy another with the cash I'll give him
I know. The problem with that though is that he isn't much into the whole "collecting" and buying/selling of pinball machines. He just likes to have a couple in his small game room. All of his pinball and arcade stuff are runoff games from my place. It would be much easier to convince him of swapping a game for another vs selling and then having to (most likely me having to) go and hunt down another game for him.

My only solution to the problem was to power down and power back up again. That would release them. It wasn't ideal but it was the only thing that seemed more fair.

To avoid a power cycle, you can simply enter self test mode with the switch on the coin door and balls will drain out of atom smasher.
Takes all of 3 seconds - but you will need access to inside the coin door.
I used this method at the provincial championships, to ensure each game started with an empty smasher.

Hmmm. I posted one here for trade a couple of weeks ago.
Unfortunately I am working on a deal already.

It's going to take a week or two to complete due to travel schedules... I doubt anything will happen, but I'll let you know if it falls through.

Sorry I didn't notice this sooner.

Hi Drano , yeah I saw it, and pmed you about it, but now I look and it never went through somehow, too bad I had nothing to trade. If it falls threw, definitely keep me in mind, its the game I'm most looking for right now. I actually messaged you awhile back about it too in May , before you even got it home . Ttyl

Ah yes. I remember now. Sorry dude, it's hard to keep track of everyone. I need to take some lessons from Wong in that department ;)

I ended up finding a Meteor for sale so I bought that and then decided to put Strange Science up for cash offers too.
But, funny enough, before I did, I ended up landing a different trade deal for a game that a buddy of mine has been hunting for a while. I figured I'd kill two birds.
Fingers crossed.
