Smells suspiciously of a scam. I contacted the seller and apparently he is located in Manchester UK but can ship free of charge. The following was the response I got from him:

First of all, I live in Manchester UK. The reason for posting my pinball on this website is to increase the chances of selling it and to find more consumers around the world, not only in my area. Locally would not be so effective .If you are still interested in buying, I can set up a delivery to your location, of course free of charge or you can come and take it personally . The pinball is in excellent working condition .

The sad part about this whole scam is somebody has probably fallen for it too. I remember when I was into sport bikes a few years ago I found a few good deals on trader and I guess the palm trees in the background should have raised the red flags and I got a similar response except more of a sob story about someone in the family died back home and this was their bike yada yada yada. Sometimes there are scams which are pretty convincing so it doesn't hurt to post up a feeler or background check on here or other forums to avoid being burned on a deal where it is not local and shipping is involved or buying out of province.

Had a very similar experience when shopping for a sport bike. Saw a wicked deal on a GSXR 600. The seller informed me that the bike couldn't be viewed because it is in a sealed crate for storage until he finds a buyer, and he had to leave the country abruptly because of a family members death overseas and he doesn't have the funds to return. Needless to say I ran the other way quickly.

As mwong168 said, I'm sure these guys find suckers that don't know the tricks of the internet that fall for this mumbo jumbo...

Unfortunately, my father had a bad experience when he was first introduced to the internet. He fell victim to the "YOU WON A CRUISE" pop-up scam. Poor guy thought he was doing something nice for the family. Never guessed that someone would go that far out of their way to rip people off.

Watch out for scammers!

I work in the IT field so am always by a computer and have been religiously searching for pins since I got into this hobby. I manually search these in each city just in case your application misses something :)

Great thread doesnt miss anything, though there is pinball classifieds some people forget to search there.

I can expand my search to include pins that I think are local or close enough to go after that is why I check Buffalo and Detroit craigslist.

It's a disease and sickness Jeff and I told you that from Day #1 :twisted: You should come by again as my line up has changed again and WH20 has left and been replaced with Tron.
