Looking to buy a soldering station since I am sick of my radio shack 1980 pencil soldering iron.

I have found this knock off on ebay $49.99, same one on amazon.com has decent reviews as a "good knockoff"

The HAKKO FX888 looks nice too, but it is 3* the cost...

What do you guys think? Is there something more reliable? I do not want to spend $200 bucks either.

I organized a group buy from MCM when they had this iron on sale and worked out to be $60cdn with shipping and taxes.

Works great and a nice step up from cheapie Wellar one before which was not temperature controlled. Perhaps you wanna organize a group buy with Allentown coming up lots of chances for people to meet up and pick up for themselves or other people near them.
