My SS does have the transformer. I just never bothered to plug it in. Works fine without it.... So far.... First pin I ever had with one. The 'fix' around my service plug has a breaker and it will 'bite' if you touch the wrong. Needs a bit more insulation. So there really is no 'need' to have...
