I picked a few odds and ends out of Mr. Hanley's boxes of parts--I always have good luck finding some useful and rare stuff on his table.
I also grabbed a worn Silverball Mania PF to harvest for parts on my Kiss restoration and I was able to find schematics/apron cards/manuals in their original...
No...would not have worked in HS.

Alltek has two sets of DIPs--one controls the audits/options like an original board would, and one that controls game "ROM" selection. Alltek also doesn't require batteries.
Barakandl's boards function almost identical to an original, requiring unique game Roms to be installed. Barakandl's...
I can vouch for barakandl's boards. They work just as well as anything out there. Alltek has DIP switches that you can set to function in any Bally/Stern game, while barakandl's boards work using ROMs like an original board would.

Credit Dot keeps rolling with the third installment of the classic Bally/Stern tech review series. In the prior review, I looked at the Pinitech Retrofit kit which took outgassed displays and converted them into great looking 5V LED displays. Pinitech now offers two different complete LED...

I've seen a few of the CPRs still kicking around in the secondary market that have yet to be installed in a game. Post a WTB here and Pinside and see what turns up...
Good luck and welcome back!
With Pinitech's DIY Retrofit Conversion LED Display kit, you can use the parts from broken or outgassed Bally/Stern displays and turn them into a set of fully-fuctioning low-voltage LED displays. What once was old, is new again...and for a fraction of the cost of an aftermarket plug-and-play...
I've been pretty vocal about Spooky pins not gelling with my pinball interests, however, I think this game looks great and has a lot of potential. I watched a gameplay video--the different modes and lock look pretty neat. They squeezed a lot of gameplay out of a pretty basic lookin' game...
I played a Zacc Earth Wind & Fire, the title of one of the saved pins here, at Allentown two years back--it was a Zacc that played more like a classic Stern rather than one of the goofy novelty pins like Devil Riders or Time Machine. It was fun...Drano, Warlock, Menace and myself played a few...
What is the Elroy shot exactly? They said something about a "horseshoe"? It kept bricking out and neither player collected it so I'm not sure what exactly is going on back there.
You've probably got a bunch of people intrigued on the specifics. If you care to carry on this story or these thoughts, please take it to your own thread.
