The Hobbit Full Playfield Posted by JJP

Judging by the holes, probably a spot for Smaug to grab a ball where the longer hole is, and maybe stash a ball in the other saucer? Still looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

    PBRev 2014 Summer Meet-n-Greet - POSTPONED!

Re: PBRev 2014 Summer Meet-n-Greet - AUG 9th! I'm maybe 50/50 at this point, depending on how kids are behaving.

    PPS "Stuff" For Sale

Ah, good to know-thanks! I don't think I'd bother buying a new PF for my CV, since I think the minor dings on mine could be repaired by someone with some skill pretty easily. Besides, it plays just fine right now, and that's all that matters.

    PPS "Stuff" For Sale

Sounds like those CV playfields aren't great-just wondering, why the distinction that they're screened playfields? What other options are there?

    WTB Bram Stoker's Dracula

I actually like that the mist can stick balls together-one of those things that can only happen in pinball when things are just that little bit of extra random. I've had the same thing happen on Spider-Man with the second Doc Ock multiball.

Stern Announces Improved AC/DC Pro Pinball Machine

Neat idea-I'm sure it doesn't come with them, but it'd be nice if they added the option to swap in colour changing LEDs like they have in the Premium/LE.

    Polk PSW10 Sub-Woofer $99.00

So it does improve a pre-DCS game? I thought it'd be a more minimal improvement on those as opposed to newer stuff? In any case, for those that have wired 2 games to the same sub, how does it work if both are going at once? More risk of blowing out the speaker, or is the effect completely...

    Polk PSW10 Sub-Woofer $99.00

Are these worth getting? I already have a FF kit in LOTR, and it sounds pretty amazing, but I was thinking of trying to add this to SM/XM (if I can do 2 games on a sub).

    FT TSPP for Avatar LE

Doesn't it have all the crappiness of Avatar with an added random double scoring powerball?

ColorDMD - The Doctor is in!

Seems like an odd choice, but if they have more people colorizing games, then that could very well accelerate the pace. Really surprised that we haven't seen IJ or TZ yet.

    Stern Star Trek: Code Updates

But will happily ship a game that isn't finished in the first place! :) Although there is something to be said for live beta testing with early buyers/players. If they're listening to player feedback, a game could change dramatically from release to "final". Look at the many iterations of X-Men.

The Pinball Diaries (what did you do today?)

Installed the 2 missing target decals on SM last night (the sandman ones). Huge pain in the ass to get at these from the top, but significantly easier to just remove the target from the bottom and get it that way. That Back Alley building mod definitely makes it more time consuming to...

Check your batteries in your pins lately?

I was actually wondering the same thing myself. I don't think so, since these kinds of batteries are used all over the place, and I haven't heard of one leaking, although I have seen them die on things like a PC motherboard. Does anyone bother changing these?

The Pinball Diaries (what did you do today?)

Ah, that would do it then-the red made it look like the LED DMD in X-Men, but the lack of gridlines should have been a dead giveaway. I just thought it was a different manufacturer that had a better process :) I think it was the frosted whites all through, and they're OK in the stuff that...

The Pinball Diaries (what did you do today?)

Yeah, I knew I'd get it eventually :) Did you replace the DMD in it with the LED one, or was the game a reimport? I noticed that it came up configured for Taiwan originally, but that could have just been someone setting the DIP switches by mistake. Didn't have to do much to tweak it...

    Full throttle pinball

Making the whole flipper mech disconnectable like that is a great idea. I thought that using breakout-style connectors on flippers was a bad idea though-wouldn't they be much more liable to coming disconnected through vibration? Otherwise wouldn't you be much more likely to see either spade...

Any Software Engineers/Developers looking for work in TO?

Thought I'd throw this out there in case anyone is looking for work, looking to make a move, or knows someone who is. I'm looking to hire a couple more developers for my team at ComputerTalk (link to posting http://computer-talk.com/software-engineer/) to work on our core platform. Looking for...

The Pinball Diaries (what did you do today?)

Got my SM set up and playing really nicely. Tilt is tight, and PF is pretty steep, so it plays pretty fast, but for some reason shots seem easier to hit than on other SMs I've played. Might just be coincidence though. Also finally fixed the topper on my whitewater. For months now it's been...

SOLD TZ Twilight Zone - $6200 (keeping game for now)

Re: FS - TZ Twilight Zone - $6200 (pics up) I don't think Dan has anything to worry about when it comes to his reputation-his games are probably the most well maintained that I've ever seen, and when he sells a game he does a great job fixing it up. I bought my first pin off him years ago...
