Problem is that there were lots of them made, but how many are beat beyond repair? How many got cannibalized for parts? I have a feeling that since the game did so well on route, it got played to death.

Did you check voltages at the flipper coils? If all the physical bits are moving normally, then wouldn't it make sense that the voltage at the coil was getting pulled down by something else, causing it to not pull as hard (or not at all)? Now, I'm not sure what would cause that (or why it'd be...

Yes, it does have a problem detecting hits-you'll notice that not every direct shot to the ringmaster will register. The upgraded board has an auto adjust feature on it. I've thought about buying it before, but it's never bothered me that much. It's a problem maybe 15% of the time.

Never seen that problem with the magnet on mine. I've had the wireform just a little out of whack which made the ball divert down there without the magnet, but the magnet has never failed to catch the ball there. The ringmaster magnet is a different story that fails to grab the ball maybe 30%...
