Re: The Six Stages of Pinball Collecting (plus Vengeance mo
Only 3 of those pins are still in your basement, Mike. Wow. You can also watch Keith become visibly stooped over after each machine.... :)
Re: FS: TSPP $4500 in GTA
And I have to add - price is definitely in the ballpark for what I paid for mine, and I love it to bits! Awesome game, great add to the collection!
Re: FS: TSPP $4500 in GTA
In this case I think your error might have been mentioning what you paid. If nobody knows what you paid, then your asking price can't look unreasonable. An exception to this is if you're selling for what you paid, which in a sense you are, but in the same sense...
Warlock got me thinking...a dangerous pastime, I know....
Stage 1 - Interest
Starting to lurk web sites and forums, thinking about maybe buying your first machine, fondly thinking of one you played as a kid and thinking how that will take you back to your youth if only you could have one of...
So after corrupting Warlock completely, it looks like I'm on the verge of taking another guy down the dangerous pinball path. I know he's already lurking here, so we'll see when he's ready to post...
Had a few friends over to play last Tuesday, and at the end of the evening, coincidentally...
So ever since I played Brock's Tron attached to an external sub, I've dreamed of doing the same to my collection. I almost ordered two new subs shipped to my friend just over the border, but decided instead to spend some time trolling kijiji. I found a couple of possibilities, sent out offers...
I didn't think it was that hairy - although I will admit to having trouble with the top step when we were bringing it up.
Haven't dropped a pin yet, although one did fall off my dolly when I hit an unexpected pothole - luckily my van saved it from going very far, and there was very minimal...
Speaking of limits, I've been requested by my wife to not let it see the light of day again. Since I have no fashion sense (at all) and don't care about clothes (at all), it's my new painting shirt.
That was indeed a great read - coming to the hobby late, I've caught up on a lot of this history, but love finding new stuff! Thanks Brock for posting!
Agreed - the social side of pinball is indeed the best side. I have to admit I spend more time talking/texting with my pinball buddies than I have been with my other friends since I got started in the hobby, and why I enjoy the online side of things.
After all - who better to hang out with...
I was trying to write the whole thing tongue-in-cheek. I have seven pinball machines in my basement, Adam. That's a whole lot of do what I want. :)
I just have other hobbies/activities that eat up funds, too. Playing squash ain't cheap, baseball tickets and league fees add up (along with...
My friends in the hobby who've known me a while laugh at my progression, but I've noticed what seems like a recent explosion in new members looking to buy their first machine, and I thought I would put together this handy dandy little set of guidelines for how I've managed to expand my...
Keep corrupting others....Warlock can blame it all on me, and now it looks like I'll be dragging another one along.
An old friend came over tonight, and along with a few others we moved some couches around (wife's requirement for bringing over muscle) and then it was down to serious pinball...
