I think they're trying to get away from the memory limitations.. take a look at this pic, it looks like there might be a memory card port in the upper right?? Weird..

You'll notice on the left a few references to "Thanks". That's a system we'll be implementing soon that is similar to Pinside's "Karma" points. Not quite a BST Feedback system, but it's going to reward posters for helping each other out. I'd ultimately like to use this as a reward system...

Very good insight here.. I find it interesting that the new "Pin" playfield is the same size as a Classic Stern. It'd be a cool project to take one of these playfields and drop it into a full sized Classic Stern cab. Mind you...

The biggest complaint with the X-Pin DMD's is the visible "grid" effect. It's because of the segment squares used to make them, and it's quite noticeable.. that and the price! I'd love to get a blue one for Tron, but at $400 .. yikes!!
Quite possibly the last NIB Tron Canada will ever see. You may have read there's a "November run" going on, but I assure you there isn't.

Great game though, one of the all-time classics.. would go great beside a Super Sprint. :) One of those games you simply can't recreate on MAME.
