Nice review! It's been a while.
I was lucky enough to find one of these and, although it's not the most complicated or difficult stern, it does feel different from anything else and it can be frustrating to set up a good spinner value only to brick your shot and knock down all the targets and...
Damn.. if I had a CFTBL I'd do a deal for your BSD :)
I think BSD is going to run substantially lower than creech though. Like maybe $1.5K-$2K less? Just taking a stab
Man! Just think of all the GOOD games I could buy with $15,200
That's like 3-4 moderately priced Bally/Williams DMDs, or about 5-7 classic solid state machines... or even 2 modern Sterns (pro)!!!
All of which likely have better rules and game play than either of those two machines.
I...
That's a big spread :D
But I have to agree with ZOD. I've owned a few JPOP games and just cannot figure why they get the money they do. They sure are pretty and they shoot nice, but that's about where it stops. Terrible and repetitive rules with easy points exploits.
I sold a super nice TOTAN...
I don't think you'll find a nice shadow or wh20 for much less than that these days either.
CFTBL has a slightly more appealing theme than those other two... but, if you ask me, it's 3rd in terms of gameplay and overall rules. Actually, I think the shadow theme is pretty cool too. Just gotta...
For the clear ramps you'll have to search on Pinside. The member is named FREEPLAY40 and he has made several special ramps for certain machines.
The paint pens are MOLOTOW and you can get them at Curry's art supply or through mail order (at bombscience or bombingscience ? Something like that)...
Thread officially hijacked :D
Here's a link to my projects blog.
I started working on HS and Scared Stiff together, hence the "HIGH SPEED STIFF" project log. It started earlier but this page has most of the good stuff... and the finals should be on the following page...
Wish I had a graphics lady ;)
The machine was fully redone and that's also a CPR playfield. It's a thing of beauty.
The cards are available from aurium. He posts links to his custom designs here all the time. You should be able to find them here...
So.. bad news.
I looked and looked...and then I remembered that I gave those plastics to a friend ages ago.
Sorry Rob. I could've saved myself a lot of time :(
I did something different with my two helicopters from the CPR repro set.
I thought it would be cool to have them pointing down the...
No worries.
There's one other thing I forgot to mention.
The "C" shaped arm that kicks the ball. It's usually built in two parts that sort of slide together. They are held under tension via a spring. This is actually meant to absorb some of the shock when it hits the ball. You'll know what I...
Everything is like this now.
People just keep pushing the price envelope to see what they can get. A few desperate buyers are willing to pay and boom! a new standard is set.
I can't believe I'm seeing games like White Water an Shadow pushing $5-$6K, I wanted a TZ back again one day, but that's...
I've had games like this.
You probably need to adjust the mechanisms a little.
Pretty sure T2 uses an older style trough and kicker mech. So, you should see a "C" shaped rocker arm that kicks the ball into the lane... if I'm not mistaken. This arm is linked to a simple plunger and coil...
Wayne.. I thought you'd have filled that new GarageMahal by now.
I guess the moral here is that everyone has a different lens and that lens is certainly impacted by how we have chosen to make our way through this hobby and the interactions that we have with others.
Some of us have been...
A really quick diode test on each switch wouldn't be a bad idea and relatively fast.
It's not 100% accurate with the diode in circuit but, more often than not, I'll find one that reads bad and then I de-solder one leg just to verify and it usually ends up being bad.
Anytime I've had this type...
