A simple question

I'm dabbling with home automation, and have tried setting up my pinball machine on a voice command to turn it on and off. to do this I have to leave the pinball machine set on all the time, and have the power supplied to it turn off and on. basically like being plugged into a power-bar and using the power-bar to turn the power on and off. With the being said, my question is, can this cause harm to the pinball machine or its power supply? is it a bad idea to control it like this? or should it be fine? Thanks for any input!

I've been doing this since I got into the hobby and use to turn my machines on/off via RF remote. I switched over to smart plugs last year as there was a guy selling these ones here in a 2 pack for $25.

I can turn them on via app on my phone and can setup what are called "scenes" which turn on certain plugs only. My 12 pins are wired to 3 separate breakers in my basement so I have 3 scenes setup so it turns on one machine per breaker. The reason I do this is because I don't want 3 pins to come on all at once on the same breaker even though I know it will be fine.

If anyone is interested I have my old Woods RF wireless outlets available still.
