And Stern does it again after saying they wouldn’t

LEs sold out.. Says who? Stern? Selling their LEs to distros doesn't mean sold out lol. And Canada isn't a good ref. We pretty much always only get a few.

It’s a completely different game. I have no issues with an LE being done. Anything DMD brought to Spike is fine with an LE.

Multiple LE’s for the same game like JP is what should be stopped and they did.

Not a MET fan but that LE is a beauty.

Simpsons 3.0 would be a good one. Although they said it would never happen. Ghostbusters, kiss are 2 of the rumored re-releases.

Will admit as a die-hard Metallica fan (and original Pro owner), seeing that LE did make me drool a little bit. I just can’t ball at those prices.

I think the new MET LE looks awesome and I still miss my ole loaded premium at times. However, shelling out around $20k CAD for an LE is just so pricey.
If I was in the market for another MET, I would definitely rather have the new tricked out remastered release.

I am under the impression that Met would have the new Spike 3 OS
Any idea what 'improvements' over Spike 2?????
No, Gomez said spike 3 would be on the next cornerstone release.

A lot of speculation on what spike 3 will be...rumors of redesigned cabinet, Gomez hinted at a bigger screen, but for sure more recent more powerful cpu.

Played the new game Saturday - it's almost like an all new game. It's fantastic.

I really never liked DD's art on the OG MET. The new art is really good.

The new artwork looked awesome in person...I kind of regret not braving the long line to try it out :)

I've never owned a music pin, I've always been scared of getting really tired at listening to the same songs all the time. Is that an issue for folks who have music pins?

I think the same however I don’t get tired of hearing the same music on any of my games. I am not sure it makes a difference if it’s from a specific band or generic.

For me the “miss” in music pins is the back story/gameplay. Making shots to keep a song going/collecting albums/etc is meh. Making shots to rescue workers from a dinosaur is exciting. I need a compelling reason to be making the shots. That’s what makes the games fun for me. Story progression more than scoring.

I had the same concern before I bought my first music pin. I don't anymore. They are among my most played machines. Plus on most of the them you can change the music if you want using Pinbrowser.

Yeah, music pins are amongst the best games released. Rush, MET & ACDC are fantastic games.
Stern continues to release the highest adrenaline experience. Notwithstanding prices are out of whack from all manufacturers.

I personally prefer the OG, but I think it would be pretty cool to add some U.V lights, paint up some eyes, tong and add some bones on sparky.

Once you play the new game you get it. It's better in every way.
If that's true, then that would mean absolutely no chance of the original being remade.. that's good news for OG owners. Pro's being the most rare. Maybe U.V. bone decals instead of U.V paint on Sparky. I'll try it when I see it, guess I'll have 2 Metallica's if it's that good. Haha

I don't understand what you mean about no chance of being remade. This IS the "remake". And the way it's remade is way worse for current owners.

It's better(modes added), modernized(LCD), and more reliable(so they say). Also not sure what you mean by being good for OG owners. I feel it's the complete opposite and quite disastrous. This makes the DMD version feel obsolete. The OG pro may be rare but it won't command a lot of money. Why would you pay more for less?

I certainly hope that's not a sign of things to come - remaking the old Stern DMD games in a modernized way. It'll crush the used market for the OG games.

I think its's good for OG's because of the Dirty Donny art package with the original sparky, I don't like the new sparky at all. I think they went this route to get around Donny, theirs a rumor that he didn't want to bring down the originals value with a 3rd release..he apparently got chirped in 2018. Makes sense as an artist, respect. Canadian currency is also crashing too.
I also prefer no hammer lock stop and go. I'm not very good so I will probably never get to the new modes, can't even get to all of the current ones, haha. And I don't look up often enough to care about the DMD. If a part breaks, I love fixing pins, that's my favorite part. It's been solid since 2013, so bummer there. Haha.
But that U.V lit up sparky is pretty friggin cool, easy enough to copy.
Will see what happens in 10 years, I'll keep it either way and check out the new one. Thankfully, I only have 2 sterns now so no biggy. But for the rest of the sterns, yes, I would be concerned for sure if I owned them.
