Awesome New Mod: Light-Up Speaker Kits

Some very nice bling from pinballtoppers.com for Stern machines.
I received my order today and just finished the quick setup.

After some time fiddling around, here is my brief review:

Pros:
Infinite customization.
Each color has 20 shades of brightness.
Pretty fun to explore all the different modes of fades, flashes, and jumps.
Each sequence can also be slowed down or sped up to your liking.
The remote also allows for DIY programming of effects and colors.
Good value for the money.
The light show really brightens up the game, and in the case of Playboy, fits perfectly with the aesthetic and colors of the machine.

Cons:
Only works with Stern machines (sorry B/W snobs!)
You will need a splitter if you have other mods running (eg. TRON mini arcade)

Meh, I'm not into modding my machines, I always feel like for the prices on some of these mods, a few bucks more and I could have another machine to play, rather then some lights to light up my speakers.

Is it wrong that I like DMD glare?
I have played games with glare guards and understand the appeal but it's just not for me.
Kinda like LEDs, I prefer incandescent.

Back to the mod: any new installs yet???

Are you sure it is unnecessary?
Check out the detail in the acrylics, they look unreal.
For the price, the benefit and utility is huge.
Hypothetically, if stern added these to LEs / premiums I could see them bumping the price up $500

but but BUT pinball is more than gameplay!

sounds ... artwork ... lights ... atmosphere: it all adds to the experience.

i guess it boils down to a mere matter of preference
