Bally Board - made matters worse ugh!

So per my post below I took the solenoid driver board out to take pictures and when I put it back in now I have a much bigger problem.

- game fires up
- have the initial sound, GI, score displays work
- attract mode, displays etc. work fine
- thought I heard some noise he first time like a fuse but i'm not sure

- when I try to hit start the game starts but no solenoids fire (i.e. the balls do not eject, shows ball eject as stuck when I look in self test)
- when I go to the third diagnostic push, none of the solenoids fire as it cycles through the self test numbers
- if I push one of them down (or example an outhole) it shows the switch as stuck - basically every switch shows stuck if I depress it and nothing fires; shows as a stuck switch
- i've replaced the playfield fuse by the flippers but nothing has improved

guess i'm kinda stuck now - do you think I did something to he board by fooling around?

Seems a possible short occurred (on solenoid wiring, or a shorted drive transistor on the Solenoid Driver board),
that took the fuse under the playfield near the flippers...

Make sure any hack wiring present on the board did not touch somewhere it is not supposed to.
Check/replace the playfield fuse after (with one of proper rating) to see if the issue clears.
If the fuse blows immediately, then somehow a drive transistor or something else has shorted on the Solenoid Driver board.
(assuming no coils are burned and that all diodes are good/present/properly soldered across coil lugs).

ok ill check tomorrow. kinda tired tonight and don't want to make things worse. just to be clear the fuse under the playfield hasn't blown. when I replace it I get the same problem (I think even if I don't put any fuse in at all). btw I really appreciate your help

If you are sure the fuse under the playfield is good,
thenF4, a 5A fuse on the rectifier board inside the cabinet, might be blown.
If so, could be a short, or a shorted BR2 bridge rectifier for the solenoids...

unfortunately took a quick peak and looks like all the fuses on the bridge rectifier look perfect...weird - doesn't look like any fuses are blown

Fuses need to be checked with a continuity tester (with the machine powered OFF-remove the fuse),
as visually it might appear good, but the element inside the fuse might be opened...

Next check - on the Solenoid Driver board, top right connector where you have the hack:
make sure pins 23,24 of J3 (Solenoid Ground) are connected to ground - according to the schematic.
If this connection is opened, none of the solenoids will fire.
I assume you have re-plugged all other connectors on that board.

Thanks for your help sylvain. got it working. turns out there was something loose in the j4 connector that was causing the problem. no idea what it was but i've repacked the connector it and its up and running again!. I guess i've learned not to mess with something if its working. thanks for your help last night. if you are ever in the KW area you are more than welcome to pop by. thanks!
