As a spin off to my other thread... I was thinking of some of the artists throughout the years that I was surprised that didn't become more popular. Instead they just stay relegated to the memories of a few die hard fans. Here are a few artists that might have been more popular if various factors came into play....?
Kill Cheerleader (Aka Cheerleader 666). Great metal band out of Toronto about a decade ago. Similar style to Guns N Roses. Never made it, broke up and now the singer is having a good amount of success with his new electro venture called Crystal Castles.

New Model Army. A band from the early 80s (and still going). Never quite hit it big and not sure why. Probably too political?
"51st States Of America"

Atomic Rooster. Great 70s hard rock band that was heavy on the organ, in the similar vein as Deep Purple. Lots of line up changes (including a member of ELP) and mental illness of the main founder probably had a lot to do with them being a footnote in early 70s music. I couldn't figure out which song to post, so I posted the original song that I heard. Like Deep Purple, there are a few distinct era's, which are quite different, but all good.
"Breakthrough"

The Headstones. Great Canadian hard rock band from the 90's. Almost seemed on the verge of making it big but never did. Lead singer Hugh Dillon has gone on now to a TV career...
"Cemetary"

I am sure I will think of others later....
