Charging a Flat host fee isn't ideal, the tokens are a long term plan.
You guys are thinking for small single day events, I'm thinking about larger multi day tournaments. Events where I'll have 100 people or more attending (or that's the plan anyway).
Charging a host fee could act as a deterrent, if I said to walk in the door was going to cost $50 and it doesn't matter if you played 1 game or 100. How many people wouldn't show up as a result?
At least with tokens people who want to show up and spend $5 to play a few games and go home can, and people there for 3 or 4 days are going to end up spending $50 or $60 in coin drop most likely.
Also you can't argue with the ROI from tokens, the largest up front cost would be getting mechs but I'm sure I can find a bulk deal for those, and you can get 5000 generic tokens for $250.
That means that every token is worth $0.05. So for every person that pays $1 for 4 tokens I'm making $0.80 on the dollar.
It won't be the number one thing on my list but like I said, long term goals.
Anyway, windows got roughed in, and I have people door!
The one thing that amazes me is that the skids of steel you see in the picture below, what you see there is going to cover the entire building. When I saw them drop it off, I was like "That's it?" and yup, that's it. Actual windows should be here Monday and I assume once those are in place the steel will start being attached.
