Buying in the US - shipping

I have the opportunity to buy a game in the US. Due to distance the seller is arranging shipping to a depot in Detroit; I pick it up from there.

Obviously there will need to be some level of trust. What should I be the most careful about?

Get LOTS of detailed pictures. Have him crate the game really well. Make sure there is enough insurance added to the shipment to cover any damage / total loss. There was a recent incident involving a AC/DC BIBLE that was written off when the carrier transporting the game rolled the truck. You can never be too careful.

If the seller is a well-known collector it makes things a LOT more comfortable. If you know anyone in their area you coul always ask them to stop by and look the game over / help pack it?
