Hey guys,

I suppose I should begin with my story......my introduction to pinball began when my Dad came home with 3 pins when I was about 15. Jungle Lord, Fireball II and Force II were the new toys. Sadly Fireball II never ever worked and I never once played it. It was eventually given away. My Dad still owns Force II where it remains in his basement non-operational. I was given the Jungle Lord. Since I have owned it, JL has not worked. I am currently in the process of rebuilding the boards so hopefully I eliminate the bugs and can bring it back to life.

In the mean time, I wanted a machine that I could play while JL is being worked on. I ended up purchasing a Secret Service. What I quickly found out was Secret Service was not for me. I sold the game and am back to a dead JL.

So I am back on the hunt for a nice pin......hopefully one that will keep me entertained for the long term. The big question is.....what do I want? The answer is.....I have no idea!!! My exposure to newer pins is very limited. My budget is between $3000-$3500. I would love to hear what you guys might think would be within my budget and if there are any pins available. I've heard rumours that there are people here who enable others....is this true???

If you're not sure what you want, your best bet is to get out and check out some other collections. There are lots of us in the GTA with newer machines, with pretty much any of the Stern and 90s B/W games around in one form or another in this small area. The easiest way to check out a bunch of them is to join one of the leagues in the area. We play every Monday for TOPL, and have east end/northeast locations in Ajax, Newmarket, and Keswick. There's also a Durham league that's concentrated more in the east end.

You've definitely got a good budget to work with, so there should be lots of titles to choose from. As Chris mentioned the only way to figure out what you like it to get out and play as many games as you can. Hopefully there are some collectors in your area that would be willing to invite you over, or you can always hit up places like 3030.

If you up for the drive to Toronto my door is open for you to try out all my games Justin. I will keep you in mind and let you know if anything pops up as your budget should be able to get you something pretty decent.

Another way to try out many different titles is with The Pinball Arcade app... Strictly speaking, it's not the same as playing a real machine, but the app has lots of actual pinball machines accurately recreated in digital form. It's a good way of seeing what grabs you.

I recommend you have an idea of which games you may like or want first.

Yes, I have spent quite a bit of time using this app. Some of the games that I enjoy playing are Ripleys, T2, Whirlwind, Fun House, Dracula, Who Dunnit, Black Rose. Seems to be a great way to get a feel for the gameplay.

Thanks for the idea, I haven't heard of 3030 before. If I'm down that way I will check it out.
