While I am waiting for my MBLE to arrive (looks like it is going to be a little longer than first anticipated), are there any insights as to what game CGC will do next? I spoke with Ryan on the phone and he couldn't really give me any leads. I wish they would so that I can decide to start saving! I have my speculations but I was hoping someone here might have some inside info?
Thanks

I thought saw a rumor somewhere on a Pinside forum that they were considering a remake of Indiana Jones... But that could just be my wishful thinking...

I think you're probably right there...

It seems that Stern or JJP are more likely to negotiate a deal with a rights holder for several properties to get the one that they really want...
(e.g. JJP negotiating with Disney and likely Disney packages a POTC license with the Toy Story license that JJP really wants... Or Stern working a deal with Disney for Star Wars, Marvel (Deadpool), etc...)

I just think if we are seeing some machines with "vintage" licenses like Munsters, the Beatles, etc... Indiana Jones is one of those properties that people still love... Heck, they ARE apparently working on another sequel... (http://bit.ly/2DgEkKQ)

That would be a dream for me!!! I miss my IJ.
I think it may be CC. I imagine that remaking an original, non licensed machine would be easier???

We may start to see more companies at least confirming upcoming titles (or presenting as leaked photos) to help reserve potential buyers. The production market is not like what it use to be. Stern's been throwing a few curve balls lately with unique and limited releases over and above their planned new model and vault releases. JJP has stated they want to increase their frequency on title releases and I believe they are now targeting two new pins per year. CGC has proven they are here to stay and producing quality remakes of memorable pins. A number of relatively new or in the works companies are emerging. The buyer's market has exponentially grown and companies want a piece of that lucrative pie. The smart move is not necessary to surprise people with a new release at the same time as you can purchase (Stern), but drive anticipation and awareness of an upcoming title to divert current sales from competitors. I'm sure I wasn't the only one that found it convenient that two waves of Munsters photos leaked while Monsters Bash was just starting to ship and fill sales.

I'd love to see a new IJ theme and I'm confident it would do well in sales as there's a large demographic of people which are drawn to the theme. The Stern model is ok, but doesn't captivate me enough to own. The Williams is a lot of fun, but resale on a collectors condition is equal to a new pin purchase which can create hesitation. What remains to be seen is what happens to the current inflated market on resales. Particularly the models that are having remakes done. I know there's a lot of pros/cons new to old, but I notice many models are sitting for extended periods of time before a buyer emerges and when they do sell at what final undisclosed price? Not long ago these same titles disappeared in the blink of an eye.

A lot of people seem to think CC is next, but I’ve got my fingers crossed for TotAN. I personally think that machine is a work of art!

After converted $CDN prices +taxes, there are a limited number of remake titles which make a lot of sense in my opinion.

Personally, I still prefer the play of restored original examples- (I’m likely in the minority on this).
Truely high-end mint restored examples of A-list B/W titles rarely come up for sale north of the boarder. Collectors know these are all but impossible to replace.
(I’ve been looking for a hep-like TZ and there’s very few of these kicking around).

Regardless, I could see CC and BBB as being the most likely re-make candidates since they were released with very limited quantities.

The other issue which is emerging is local buyers looking for steals on huo Stern Premium and LEs. The currency is killing us here with NIB LEs reaching $13k and premiums in the $11k range.
Yet if a mint huo one of these hits the market, there seems to be a growing number of buyers expecting a huge discount off these prices. There’s already one member looking for a used Munster’s Pro and I don’t think a single one has even been delivered in the GTA.

Anyway, this is an awesome hobby and I can see there’s lots of exciting stuff coming our way.

Here’s the thing; based on their first 3 releases they seem to be going with titles high up on the Pinside top 100 list. Titles like TotAN and ToM would be the next logical choices. The production runs for those machines would also be similar to MM and AFM. TZ and TAF would most likely be excluded due to their high production runs. My money’s on ToTAN, but that’s also wishful thinking on my part. I also think CGC would be able do something really special with an LE version of that title. They could turn it into a real (literal) jewel!

Also, there’s a Munsters Pro at Cabin Fever if anyone is interested in trying it out. I was surprised when I saw it last week, as I assumed they hadn’t made it over the border yet either. Really fun game!

I wish they would leak some news....though, they will probably wait and sell as many MBr as possible first. I've been on board with their first three pins so I will most likely be in on a fourth! I have to agree, I imagine it will be TOTAN, ToM or CC....still would love a CFTBL, or an IJ as well - though, I think JJP should really lobby for a new IJ license (if that is even possible). Though, I wouldn't count out TZ or TAF!
