Game 55: Time is Running Out!
ColorDMD is excited to announce that Safe Cracker is the 55th game to be supported by the ColorDMD multicolor pinball display platform! Safe Cracker is yet another game to benefit from the small form factor of the new ColorDMD LED display introduced last year. These displays use a matrix of 128x32 discrete RGB LEDs and occupy a similar space as original plasma DMDs.
Safe Cracker is the fourth game to be completed through the collaboration of Chris Enright and Josh Jertberg! Chris is a founder of ColorDMD and Safe Cracker marks his 14th title as lead developer! Josh provided reference color artwork for Indiana Jones, Metallica, and Twilight Zone. The extensive detail in all three games ranks among ColorDMD's highest regarded work and Safe Cracker does not disappoint!
The color LED display for Safe Cracker will be exhibited at the Texas Pinball Festival later this month! TPF Organizer Ed VanderVeen will have his personal game available for free play and dispensing special tokens with the Safe Cracker and TPF logos!
The ColorDMD LED powder coated metal bracket may optionally be installed in a slightly lower mounting position on Safe Cracker to help prevent the top rows of the DMD from being cut off by the backbox light board. This can help if the top rows of Safe Cracker’s original plasma DMD were out of view from player’s line of sight. See the product page for optional lower mounting position instructions on Safe Cracker pinball machines.
The ColorDMD for Safe Cracker pinball machines shares the same easy-to-install hardware platform as previous ColorDMD releases. All displays ship with the factory installed SIGMA ROM that supports WPC, WPC95, SAM, Whitestar, and SPIKE platforms. Multicolor operation is enabled through download and installation of a game-specific color ROM file, available from our site. ROMs can be changed at any time, allowing use with any of our supported titles.
LED displays are completing production now and will begin shipping this week from our store site. The color ROM for Safe Cracker pinball machines is targeted for release by Friday, March 17!
