You should try hooking up SM to the same sub and maybe sell your FF kit to Gino instead :) I know this made a huge improvement on the bass on my Tron. Thankfully I can easily switch it off so I am able to play late at night.

this is a big thing as of late.

Someone needs to post a "how to", even tho I can figure it is real simple....others may find use of a good "how to"

Great idea David, I use the same sub in TRON, BSD and Metallica.
Cheaper and sounds great, plus you can hook up 2 games at once easily.
I'm about to order a second. They are on sale at futureshop again w free shipping.

This sub IMMENSELY improves sound quality.

How to install a sub:

Run speaker wire from sub (low level input only) to game in 3 steps:

1) unscrew under cab speaker in game, run speaker cable through hole
2) strip speaker cable going to game, wrap the + / - leads onto the existing under cab speaker
3) turn on sub and enjoy how the game is meant to sound :D

ok so just hook up the input to the new sub right to the stock sub in bottom of cabinet...so both new and stock subs will both work?

Low level input only??? what do you mean by this....just the bass freq?

thanks.

Nice superhero collection there. Xmen is one cool game, the mod must compliment the overdramatic quotes!

If your sub has both 'high level' and 'low level' inputs (like the PSW10) use low level.
This is because the sound is already amplified pre-sub.

High level signals are amplified. Low level are not.

If you are connecting to a pinball machine speaker, then the signal has been amplified and you want to connect to the subwoofers high level inputs

There's a "how to" in general tech support. Do it right, don't damage your equipment.

If you connect from your pinball machines speaker into the subwoofers low level (RCA) inputs then you will fry the sub.

OK, so it looks like I am not saying what I mean and am confusing everybody, including myself.
I meant speaker level input / output, not low and high level.
Sorry!

Does this look right?

No that not 100% correct. I'm surprised that that works. Does that work? Normally you would connect both wire to the same "right" or "left" input. Like this.

If your sub is working as you have it in your picture, then it's possible that you have "bridged" it. I'd have to see the schematics for your subwoofer, but its probable that connecting the subwoofer that way has reduced the impedance from 8ohm to 4ohm. This would cause the speaker to wear out quicker, increasing distortion over time.

It really depends how the subwoofer is wired inside. And weather the left and right channels are separate inside (dual voice coil), or if they get combined (single voice coil) and if there combined weather their series wired or parallel.

To be safe I'd connect both to the same side. That way you can connect 2 pins to one sub

Back when I did car stereos we'd buy an amp that ran at 1/4ohm. Then we would buy 8 ohm speakers and daisy chain a bunch of them together. I think one guy had 16 subwoofers in his car, all running off one amp.

Man we were stupid teenagers. :FP:
