So lets say the tube on your game has so much burn that you can read the writing on the screen when the game is off.

What's to stop you from picking up a cheap TV of kijiji and swapping out the tubes?

There's probably more to it than that I expect :mrgreen:

Sometimes you can because some tvs use identical tubes. What size tube are you after? I have some 25 inch and 27 inch tubes.

The tricky part to a tube swap is the yoke, as the alignment of the yoke is where all the magic happens. The reason it's tricky is it's best to find a replacement tube with a yoke that is compatible with your existing monitor chassis, as then the swap is nothing but the PCB's.
