WTB F-14 Tomcat displays (early production)

Well I got some new education yesterday when I picked up an F-14 Tomcat for a friend of mine who is just getting into pinball. The displays seem to be toast, and there is actually one display missing. When I went to the usual suspects to look for new LED replacements I realized that F-14 has two different score display boards depending on when the game was produced, and the one we picked up has the early version which is not reproduced anymore. Does anyone have any working spare displays I could just solder onto the existing board out there? I presume they would be 7 digit alpha numeric displays. Apparently if we bought the newer version of the board, there would be a clearance issue and some modifications necessary to make it fit. Trying to avoid that for now.

Couldn't you just modify the game to work with the LED display that IS available?

Yes, but like I stated in my last two sentences, I'm trying to avoid that route for now. Apparently it's not as simple as you would think.

OK. Glass is getting VERY difficult to come by, and you will likely have to head south of the boarder. Ebay might be your best shot.

I was reading about the issue a bit last night and apparently you have to de-solder and relocate the connectors as well as drill holes in the new pc board if you use the newer style board in the older speaker panel. I can surely do this for my friend who bought the game, but we don't live close to each other and it would be a bit of a pain to drag all my gear over to the game to make this thing fit. I'll likely have to do this eventually, but I thought I'd see what was out there first.

Shoot me some pics and the part number of the board and which displays you need (nipple or no nipple ?) I can't promise but I have alot of used and new and Nos display boards and displays from over the years that I'll give up for a friend assuming I can find them in the boxes of parts..... Lol
