Fastest multi-ball in pinball?

I've heard it said, and I agree, that the fastest multi-ball in pinball (i.e. the length of time a player is able to keep two or more balls in play simultaneously) award goes to Steve Ritchie's 1980 classic, Williams FIREPOWER.

Just wondering if anyone else has another opinion on the subject.

So the shortest amount of time someone can keep a multi-ball going? Hmmm.... Good question. I'll have to think about that.

Way to subjective. I wouldn't say any game has a MB that is more unusually short than any other.

Turn off the ball saver on any modern DMD and MB's could be considered just as short as firepowers, but it all comes down to control and the player. Firepower is inherently short, the left and right ejects of the ball feed directly to your left and right flipper, then only variable eject would be the top one which the return from the pops would be random.

But you should be able to gain control out of the controlled feeds from the right and left and from there it is up to you how long the MB lasts.

Good point, Adam. I hadn't considered the ball save option on DMDs.

Speaking from my collection.
High Speed is longest with the jackpot spot being hard to eye up during 3 ball. Game is targets, ramp.
Checkpoint is mid as it can restart. The game is ramp, spinner.
Nascar plays the longest time and cetainly has more jackpot opportunities.
The game has the deppest rule set.
I also must also note that my collection plays fastest (ball speed) from newest to oldest. I have certainly noted this along the years.

I'm looking at shortest/fastest MB, as in most difficult to maintain MB; not longest.

In my collection Strange Science is hardest maintain multiball. It dumps 5 balls on the left flipper at once. There really isn't a good place to shoot a ball to get it out of the way for a moment while you get control of another. Normally 2 or 3 drain in a second or two. Sometimes you can keep a couple running, but the flow of that machine is of the "hammering nails" variety, so it's difficult.

Demo Man quickest to multiball? You on super duper easy settings or something? I've never felt it to be too quick. Couple wolverine bashes always seemed quick to me...

Demo man is faster.

Launch ball, shoot computer shot, roll down right inlane (lights lock freeze), shoot left ramp, roll down right inlane (lights cyro claw), shoot right ramp and choose lock freeze which starts MB.

That is about as quick as it gets.

I guess any game with more than a 3 ball multi is going to suffer from this. Apollo 13 ahem, ahem ;)
I owned Strange Science for a short time and it was pretty ridiculous. Williams IJ 6 ball multi is like that as well but I find there are places to put the ball and I have a greater sense of control.

The one I always seem to crap the bed on is High Speed. I very rarely seem to be able to settle down one or more balls on the left flipper to go after the left orbit to ramp jackpot shot with the right.
