Re: [Group Buy]: DMD Glare Guard "Knock Off"

I just received an email from Kevin @ bentplastics.com and he said he has stock and can meet with the demand. We are already getting a price break as he told me this:

$4.50/each @ 50+ pieces and if we can make it to 100 pieces he could drop to $4.25/each

I just emailed him luch's address and trying to work out shipping costs. Also asked him if his are textured to help reduce glare and for more close up pics.

Hmm, tempting. I've only seen these in action the once at Chris' place, and I can't remember how they looked in person, and whether it'd be impossible for my kids to see the display with one of these on.

They are easy enough to remove and don't require any special tools since they are wedged between the glass and the upper plastic channel. I'll admit they do look sort of ugly if you had them only on one game but if you had them on all it might not stick out like a sore thumb so much. Here is how the Wrong Crowd PinZero glare guards look installed on an AFM:

You will notice even with the textured bottom it still sort of casts a minor reflection from the inserts flashing onto the playfield glass but much more tolerable compared to the DMD.

I just got some more pics from Kevin showing both sides and confirmed there is a texture on the bottom side. The name for it from his supplier is haircel

That, and the fact that they look exactly like the original plastic ones on the market.

In any case, much better deal.
Now if only someone will do the same with pincab protectors

yeah, those photos look about the same as the originals. None for me since my machines all have them, but they are great. I'll be able to finally play Adam's Godzilla!

I figure $4.25 US + HST and Shipping brings it up a bit closer to $5, but a tilde ~ means "approximately" not "I'll pay $5 despite what everyone else pays"

If it works on AFM, then please make my order 12, not 10.
I will need one to reverse mount on SWE1 and 1 spare too.
Ya never know.

Updated the list and now 119 pieces! I wonder if I should ask Kevin what is the next price break at 150 pieces :p
