Thanks for the reply pindude.

I did swap out the cpu and stuck in a new altek cpu. The effect was there just more faint. I was chalking that up to new headers on the new altek making better connection? BUT the effect was still present. So might be a playfield issue as you suggest.

I spend a lot of hours on this with no resolution. It is a subtle flickering of 4 lamps and not a big deal but I was determined to resolve the issue. I get satisfaction from resolving weird issues like this but after so many hours I decided to focus my energy on other things on the to do list in the games room. I may revisit this issue still though.
