What are you guys printing these on? I'm looking to do up some coil wraps, and some serial number labels and was wondering how everyone prints these out. Is there a preferred paper that is easily wiped down or are you just using Avery labels? What about the different coil wrap colours?

Thanks!
Tim

I open the URL and remove the "_text" at the end to reveal the correct logo art files.
Then open the PDF in Photoshop... It will flatten the art and turn it into pixels instead of vector, but that's okay.
I apply the appropriate colour to the wrappers in Photoshop and, from there, I print it 1:1 scale on full sheet Avery shipping labels and then trim by hand.

I take it you are using a colour laser printer? I'm thinking inkjet won't cut it.

When you remove the _txt the real image appears and it is colourised. You edit the colours afterwards?
Do you use two-sided tape when you wrap them around the coils? What have you had the best results with?

Guys print on various mediums. I saw a new one lately where the guy printed the coil wrappers on blue painters tape. Fathom restore on Pinside

Some of the Bally ones are just white and I had original coil wrappers that had some colour.

The painters tape would give you a much closer texture to the original for sure!

Actually it would be easy.
Print a test sheet
Align & apply the tape in the same manner as the wrapper over test sheet.
Print again
Cut and apply with double sided tape

Yes, that stuff.

You guys are blowing my mind. I don't know why this stuff doesn't occur to me... I blame my kids (lack of sleep).

Once you cut, do you peel the test sheet off the back when you are done? Is so, couldn't you just use the adhesive already on the tape to stick it to the coil?

Yeah, that's what I was getting at (in a round about way). I mean, it's tape. Why do you need to add double-sided tape to tape?

Either way, this is genius. Painter's tape comes in blue, white, orange, and green already. I haven't seen red, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
