Hope everyone made it home safely yesterday and homes didn't get flooded! I lost power in my area at Yonge/Sheppard around 6:10pm and got it back just after midnight. Here are some pics I came across from various sources.

It's nice to be reminded that people in Ferraris are just as vulnerable to acts of God as people in Hyundais.

That is some crazy sh*t right there. What I want to know is why was Mike still at work at 6:00 ? :geek:

He must have a real job.

I probably could last quite a while here at my work as we are stocked with plenty of Crackers, Cheese, Chocolates, wine and spirits. I left the winery in Vaughan at around 5:45pm after debating for 10-15 minutes if the rain would ease off before I ran to my car. I got home just a little after 7:00pm and was on the phone with my wife at the time when she lost power while cooking dinner. It was amazing how selfish and inconsiderate people are at intersections in regards to treating it as a 4 way stop since the lights were out. Even when they did stop they were still rolling and creeping into the middle of the intersection :FP:

Yeah, that's really weird. We had a bunch of rain, but nothing near that bad, and didn't lose power at all. I'd thought most of the worst if it was further south (lakeshore etc), but some of those pics from the 401 are pretty scary. Glad that I left work early yesterday.

This storm was very targeted. Hamilton, Oshawa saw next to no rain. The Mississauga/Etobicoke border was hard hit as were many other areas in Toronto and Mississauga.

That pic before the Ferrari was of the 427 South/Burnhamthorpe, and unlike the south end of the DVP, it's not river overflow. Just a lot of water with nowhere to go. Unreal.

2 km to my west there were torrents of water in the side streets. 427/Burnhamthorpe is 4 clicks east of me. My house and immediate area were spared save for the 6 hour power outage.

A co-worker's inlaws near Dufferin and Eglinton W were not so lucky.

My basement flooded, but it is a leaky basement and I've dealt with floods before. Nothing was ruined.

That really sucks for your co-worker Barry, hope they got it all pumped out today with minimal damage and loss. How high did the water get in your basement Chris? Higher then winter time after a heavy snowfall and melt down the next day? I'm glad to hear nothing got damaged or ruined.

flooding yesterday was not as bad for me as the winter thaw.... so, I was annoyed, but had no idea it was so bad out there until I checked the news later in the day.

I stand corrected. Just spoke with my neighbour who works for the City of Toronto. The Etobicoke Creek water level was 30 ft higher than normal and was the source of the highway flooding. So many stories of damage.

We recently moved and a lot of my games are currently folded on their backs. Same at my shop.
I was seriously nervous on monday!
