That's simple... it adds cost. Stern isn't interested in making these games last as long as they can either. They'd rather you blow them out as quick as possible so you buy another game.
The one thing I noticed in these pics is how CRAPPY the clear coat looks... is there any on there at all?

Funny, I was commenting to someone else that the clear looks lightyears better than my TRON:LE. I guess it's down to lighting.
Better make sure those sling switchse are always adjusted *just right* all the time or the Starchild area will be a snooze fest...

Yeah I'm not a KISS fan in the very least, but this is one of the best looking games they've made in a long time. Here's hoping it plays as good as it looks!
