Looking for first pin

Hey there. I'm a new member, looking to purchase my first pin. I played a lot in the late 90s while in university and I'm looking to replace the dining room table the ex took with a table (or 3) I'd get more use out of. I'm handy, but clueless when it comes to pinball, so a robust, smoothly operating machine is key.
I think I'd prefer an older DMD game to get started in the hobby, but open to hearing any suggestions.
My list would include (but is not limited to):

For your first pin you're best off getting something fairly new and relatively maintenance free until you get your feet under you and learn the basics of pin repair. If it ain't broke, it ain't pinball

Also you're going to need deep pockets; some of the games on your wish list can be as much as $10K

Finally remember that pins are like rabbits, you can't have just one.

yes would agree . your range is from 2k to 10k for those machines . also the calgary market is higher then toronto market , less product . so if your buying from toronto area consider shipping costs . is there a league in your area ? if so join and network , you just might find the game you want

Shipping costs are surprisingly reasonable; I shipped a pin from Calgary earlier this year for less than $200.

Keep in mind shipping from Calgary to Toronto is cheaper than the other way around.

It's not an even trade off, as it has to do with routing and space

Hey guys, thanks for the replies! I've been looking around for a while now and have noticed how dry of a market it is out here. There is a local league that I'd like to check out, but I don't think I'm a good enough player yet. I'd like the opportunity to play at home too (I'm a bit of a hermit in some ways).
I'm coming to grips with the pricing of these machines, and realize that some of the games I listed are quite expensive and hard to come by. My main concern is less about the price of the game than getting scammed. The sticky post about that was pretty informative though.
Anyways, if you have to make some space or are looking to get rid of something drop a line.

leagues are not professional players , some are good and some just are not , it's a sure way to learn and see games and ask questions , you do not have to be a good player to join , just go and see a league in action , most if not all would welcome you and not charge you if there is a league fee .
