Finally have my Getaway playing flawlessly (if thats even possible with a pinball machine) after many many months doing a pretty much full on restore. Had the rails , legs, and lock down bar powder coated in Ferrari red. Pretty happy with the results. Wanted to do a powder coat treatment on my F14 but wasn't sure what color so i decided to just vinyl wrap it in yellow to see if i like it. I do, but i'm thinking maybe black would be better? What do you guys think ? Opinions ?

The yellow seems like a bit much, but you could do a yellow/black stripes like the caution surfaces on planes etc? Red on the Getaway looks good though!

Hmmm. that could be cool but not something you could powder coat. The idea of using just vinyl was a temporary solution just to see if i liked the yellow. Im planning on maybe powder coating it in the future if i decide on a color. The yellow actually looks better in person but i know what you mean.

I am not feeling the yellow on f14 but I think the red looks great on Getaway. Great job on the restore and was following your cab progress on pinside.

Not feeling the yellow F-14 either. I wonder if electric blue would suit better; it would match the backglass better

Thanks Mike, It was a lot of work. Did it all myself except for the odd board issue that arose but of course i had the best guy on the job for that . Cough... Doug...cough.. lol He is the man ! As far as the F14 goes... I was kinda digging the bling aspect of the yellow on the F14 but im pretty much the only one that likes it. My wife even says no lol . Im thinking black. What do you think ?

One of the cool things i changed on my Getaway was the gear shift knob . The oringinal one is pressed on and there is no way to remove it from the shaft without destroying it so my buddy Andrew made me a new shaft (as seen in the photos he made a few in case any other Getaway owners want one) and found me this knob in the photo below. Looks really cool and i still have the full original in case i sell and the new owner wants to reinstall it.

Black works pretty much with any game and stock on new Stern Pro models. Maybe someone who is savvy with photoshop could work their magic with your pics above and give you an idea of what other colours might look like on your F14.

Love the red, looks perfect. I think yellow is a tricky color. Maybe it's the picture but a warmer yellow (maybe like bumblebee), closer to the explosion color in the backglass?

Some one photo shopped a few colors on it for me on pinside.
