Do you plan on getting the new premium? If so, Sam might hook you up with trading it in.. Saves the tax too. Might be an option If you get no interest.
I haven't dealt with him yet but seems like a good guy.

Yeah I was thinking this might happen. Renewed interest in Metallica and then the new machine sells out so people go looking for the old one.

I'm kind of leaning towards holding onto it now, I feel more comfortable with hard assets than cash in the bank at the moment for various reasons.

I have looked at the new Metallica with interest in buying...but I have a MOP now and despite the different art and LCD monitor, it will basically play much the same with the same layout as my old Metallica. The new art is interesting, but it isn't necessarily an improvement, it is just different. I like the DD art style better, personally. But I may still buy a premium to sit next to MOP someday.

Ya agree it will really come down to what you enjoy looking at as the art on both is still very satisfying to stare at. The layout and enjoyability are the same so not missing out on anything in that aspect. Someone said the new shocky looks worse and i would agree with that sentiment. What I do like about the new version is it matches the rest of my stern line up, but so does the older model if I put it in the second line up area, but that area is shrinking as I move onto newer games, so just comes down to personal choice.

And its a good ol solid sam system, mine boots up in under 10 seconds ready to flip! Good for those times when you dont feel like waiting for slow poke spike to take its sweet ass time.
