I have a shorted coil on my MET on the disappearing ball unit. I have the new coil but was wondering if anyone has a tip on how to remove the Loctite from the washer and the threaded rod without bending or breaking anything?

You could try heating the nut up using a soldering iron with hopes you can get the nut hot enough to expand just enough for you to break it free.

I used this technique to break free a loctited nut during a cannon fix on AC/DC.

Hey Mike,
I have had success with the soldering iron. Go slow and give it time to heat up.
I don’t think it’s actually expansion but the loctite itself heating up.
I have seen the loctite bubble from the heat.

Thanks for the tip finally got it,coil was not as uniform as old so was getting caught on trough underneath but finally able to make work.
