I paid asking

I got it because I was no nonsense, no questions, no asking for pictures, told him I'd take it as is where is

For the price, why would anyone bother trying to ask questions

Sometimes when you don't ask questions, you are in deeper than you think. Looks like a decent score, but asking questions is never a bad thing.

It's a bad idea in this situation.

It's kijiji, the guy wanted it gone, he didn't want to have to deal with back and forth

Good for you.
At least it now in the community.
AP is one of those titles I grew up playing but have a hard time shelling out for.
It's just on the basic end of the sys 11 machines.
I know it can be multiball modded. I just don't know if it will play or feel right as a multiball machine...
Looking forward to the project thread to see all the pics I never got.

Yea it won't be back on kijiji 3 days later at double the price.

Don't think I'll do the MB mod, don't see the value. AP is a control game, having a MB doesn't fit with the game play and from what I read in the site it doesn't do 2 or 3x scoring with MB so it's literally just extra balls on the pf which I don't really care about.

Congrats on getting this Adam and here is hoping it is just a fuse. How is the game's over all cosmetic condition? I know at this price point you can't be too picky but I know most APs I have seen have a pretty trashed backglass.

...or listed in another city

I'll have to do in the interconnect for sure, that is where I'm going to start and see where I am at once that is done.

Condition wise, the pictures on the ad were the pictures of the machine, I could tell by a couple of things. The very first photo was obviously a stock photo, but the other two, first indicator was the wire hanging behind the back of the head, that meant both pictures were of the same machine. If the guy was still using stock photos at that point I doubt he would have taken the time to make sure they were of the same machine.

Second indicator was the missing right flipper, if you look at the 3rd picture the upper right flipper is missing replaced with a lane guide. Those two specific things told me I was looking at the machine I was going to pickup.

So condition wise the machine is in pretty nice shape, BG has some flaking but nothing terrible, I've got worse BG, and the PF is really nice with minimal wear.

Story of the machine goes, his father used to own a restaurant back in the day and he bought this machine for the restaurant, the guy had owned this machine since he was 13. When he grew up and got his own company he threw it in the break room and that is where I picked it up from.

Asking a bunch of meaningless follow-up questions, requesting pictures, etc, is a sure way to get you lumped in with the rest of the tire kickers on Kijiji--those Kijiji Kowboys that get all hot and bothered when a machine pops up for sale, but won't put their money where their mouth is. Talk is cheap. If the price is right (it was for the AP) and you really want it (Veng did), send a message stating you'll take it no qestions asked and that you have cash in hand (cue the pic of the AP in the back of Vengance's truck). Heck, maybe offer a small deposit...it's worked out for me every time I've done it...which isn't that often. If you are buying a ToM or a TAF maybe these rules don't apply...but for a $500 AP? C'mon.

I agree with meaningless garbage, but if a game comes up and you can't see the issues from the pictures or description, you'll want to ask something.

At the very least see it before you buy it.

Buying sight unseen, even at a "great deal" can get you burned. It's a risk that some will take and others won't. That's all.
