Hey now, just popping in to say, if you ever saw the movie "The Matrix" when one of the crew jacked into the Helicopter and was flying it? The Oculus Rift allows you do that! The Heli simulator is my favorite by far! You fly around an Island and Warship and your brain will be tricked into actually believing you are there. You will actually get motion sickness if you bank too fast or drop your altitude. When you look down you see your body as the pilot, when you look behind you, the crew member will startle you! When you look down when flying past the island, you will see the blue ocean whizzing by your chopper, its all quite surreal
In my 30 years of gaming, this is the fricken motherload people, no joke. Any flight simulator on the PC created in the last 20 years has just become obsolete! Here is another post by another flight sim enthusiast:
Re: This has been the best demo for me so far. Helicopter.

I've been a home cockpit flight simulator enthusiast for several years now. I've experimented with many different multi-display 3d platforms (200 degree 6 foot wrap around screen with 3 projectors, the "inside cockpit display" using the TOOB idea, the "outside canopy display" using the FREX idea, multiple HMD's, 8 simultaneous monitor setups, and a 73" rear projection tv...all with and without head tracking). This demo, with the Rift, has completed the "immersion" factor and "suspension of disbelief" that I and many other flight simulator enthusiasts have long been awaiting. What you've created will demonstrate that the Rift has the potential of finally bringing to the home user what only high end military and commercial users have had access to until now. The Rift has been hyped for FPS's, but I believe there is immediate potential of the Rift with flight/racing simulation. I would like to see more movement in this direction, so THANK YOU VERY MUCH for this awesome display of cutting edge technology! (keep the updates coming...
